Lifolf was Earl Hakon Palsson’s cook in the early 1100s. He was ordered by the earl to give his rival, Magnus, the fatal axe blow to the head on Easter Monday 1117. The remains of the holy earl Magnus now rest within a red sandstone column in the Saint Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall. The story of Lifolf the cook was passed down to us in the Orkneyinga Saga, written in Iceland around 1200 AD. This chocolate pack commemorates him.
